About Ellswear 

 

Ellswear was founded in 1991 by Kathryn Ells in Victoria, B.C. Soon after, she was joined by her sisters, Lynn (Ells) Davis and Wendy (Ells) Coste, who operate the business today.

 

With our passion for sewing and clothing design, we started out making our own brand of activewear. In the years following, we shifted direction to also sewing costumes for local studios and carrying dancewear for various styles. 

 

While our business has grown over the years, our team has never been more than 10 people. It’s always been important to us that they have the same enthusiasm for dance as we do.   

 

Dance 

 

Whether it’s your first class or you’ve been dancing for years, you can rely on us to get you everything you need. We carry dance shoes, clothing, and accessories from top brands around the world.

 

Picking out dance attire should be a special moment, especially when it’s the dancer’s first time. We train friendly and knowledgeable staff so your shopping experience is enjoyable and stress-free. 

 

We realize how expensive dance can be, which is why we have options for different price points. We believe that everyone should get to dance.

Activewear

 

We manufacture our own Ellswear brand of activewear right here in Victoria. Because the Ellswear line is designed and sewn on-site, most of our garments can be customized to fit all body types. Plus, you can choose from dozens of fabrics.

 

We take time with fitting and prioritize style because we want you to feel comfortable and confident.
